Gerald T. Parrish

Gerald T. Parrish, age 83, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by daughter, Freda Ann Clayborne; parents, Clark and Bertha M. Parrish; sisters, Dean Parrish and Carol Parrish; and brothers, Alden Parrish and Richard Parrish.

Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Shirley Ann Hunter Parrish; daughter, Vickie (Steve) Thigpen of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Alea Thomas, Matt Thigpen, Megan Thigpen; great grandchildren, Kiki Thomas and Aaron Thomas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Parrish was born on October 1, 1940 in Kingston, West VA, and graduated from Ridgewood High School. He was a retired traffic engineer from Dekalb County Traffic Division after thirty-five years of service. He also had worked for Suwanee Post Office for fifteen years. Mr. Parrish was a member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon. He loved spending time with his family.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20 at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at 1:00 p.m.
