Myra Eudice Schaier Idol

Myra Eudice Schaier Idol, 80, of Cumming, GA, passed away on September 12, 2024, peacefully at her home in Cumming. 

Graveside service will be held at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Gainesville, GA on September 13, 2024, at 2:30 pm with Rabbi Alexandria Shuval-Weiner of Temple Beth Tikvah officiating. 

Myra was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Jack and Esta Schaier on April 9, 1944. After completing high school and college, she earned a Master’s Degree in Social Service at Columbia University. She spent her career serving our youth as a dedicated teacher and counselor, as well as an advocate for children with special needs and those in family crises. She enjoyed music, theater, and dancing, and her favorite things to do were spending time at the beach with friends and family and taking over dance floors with her husband, where they received many a standing ovation. 

Myra is survived by her husband, Robert Idol, of Cumming, GA, daughter Sara Chernauskas (Jason), Granddaughter, Milana Chernauskas, stepsons Robert Idol (Jamie), Johnny Idol (Nina), step-grandchildren Cameron Idol, Alex Idol (Kaley), Audrey Idol, Logan Idol, AnaMarie Idol, Caden Idol, Nolan Idol, brother Lenny Schaier (Ellen), and nephews Arthur Schaier (Alyssa) and Neil Schaier. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Shaier and her mother, Esta Schaier.
