Rebecca “Becky” Moore

Obituary Date: Wednesday, September 11, 2024

Rebecca “Becky” Moore, age 91, of Buford, GA passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. She was preceded by her husband, Rev. McHoyt Moore in 2008; parents, Porter Lee Haynes and Jessie Bell Plunkett Haynes; sister, Margaret Pitcher; and brothers, Robert Gray and Ralph Gray. Mrs. Moore is survived by daughter, Sonya Moore Cutter and husband, Leonard of St. Augustine; son, Grant Moore and wife Joanie of Buford; grandson, Chad Pass and two step-grandsons, Mark Cutter and wife Christine, Matt Cutter and wife Maura; great grandchildren, Ruthie Pass and Bailey Pass; seven step-greatgrandchildren; sister-in-law, Jannean Jones of Buford; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We are so thankful that God granted to our Dad a beautiful and devoted Life Companion; and, to ourselves, a loving and devoted Mother, Grand-Mother and Great-Grandmother. She held high her honorable position of a Pastor’s Wife. She was dedicated to serving others through Christ’s love and Biblical teachings. Her Missionary-Heart of witnessing Christ’s love and forgiveness was coupled with having a listening ear. This lead to her own “Greeting Card” ministry where, over the years, she sent hundreds of get well, sympathy, and other cards of love and encouragement. Her joyous nature and cheery voice were captivating. She was also known for her attention to detail displayed in her home, flower gardens, and her fashionable style. She taught us the need to be disciplined, to give everything our best and to look our best as we represent God’s love. Her preparation of meals for needy families was always preceded by prayer. She was a true prayer warrior, waking up all times of the night to pray for those on her heart. Everyone knew if you asked her to pray for you she would. She was a dedicated friend to many. She visited the sick and dying, comforted the lost and lonely, and reached out to total strangers if they needed help. She was gifted at being strong and had an endless drive to get things done. She had an energetic and fun nature that was contagious, and her quick wit brought smiles to everyone. Her life purpose was to lead others to Christ through prayer and example. We all felt her passionate love and devotion. Her ability to stretch a penny was incredible. She tithed every penny she earned and/or was gifted. She gave God the Glory for blessing her and for meeting her daily needs. She felt the presence of the Lord in her life. We can only imagine what Glories she is already experiencing in Heaven. We miss her greatly. May her Godly legacy carry forward to generations to come. We all loved her so much.
