Sandra Cornell

Sandra Cornell was born on March 24, 1945 and passed away on September 17, 2024.  Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E Cornell and her parents, Vera Thompson Hatcher and Tiny Hatcher.

She is survived by her brother and his wife, Bryant Calvin and Joy Hatcher of Lake Seminole, FL.  Step son and daughter in law, Chad and Kim Cornell of Dawsonville, GA.  A very special niece, Sabrina Hatcher of Gainesville, GA, who cared for Sandra and provided her with love and comfort during the last months of her life. A dear friend who was like a sister to her, Donna Duckworth of Smithville, GA.

Sandra retired from BellSouth Mobility and after retirement enjoyed traveling and exploring new places throughout the world with Dan.  She loved going to the beach and spending time with friends and family.  Sandra and Dan lived at Lake Hartwell for many years and loved living on the lake.

Sandra was very creative and enjoyed all types of arts and crafts.  She looked forward to playing cards with her neighborhood friends every week and enjoyed the companionship as much as the card games.  The most recent love of her life was her fur baby, Cady, who will miss sitting in Sandra's lap and snuggling with her.

Sandra loved and was loved by her family, friends and everyone who was lucky enough to have been a part of her life.  She will be dearly missed by all.

We would like thank Whitney Shumake and Monique Jones with Hospice of Northeast Georgia for their care and compassion over the past 9 months.  

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wounded Warriors or St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

A Celebration of Life for both, Daniel E Cornell and Sandra H Cornell, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.
