Ronnie Daniel Smith, age 78, of Gainesville, GA closed his eyes peacefully on earth and opened them in Heaven on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Dale Smith of Gainesville; Children, Ron Smith (Holly) Dawsonville, Donna (Darren) Gainesville; Grandchildren, Parker, Keaton, and Morgan (the apple of his eye); His adored fur baby Nikki; Brothers, Rev. David Smith and Richard Smith (Patty) of Gainesville; Sister-in-law, Maureen Smith of Gainesville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Nona Mae Smith of Gainesville; sisters, Lula Mae Wade of Gainesville, Thelma Spence of Waycross, brother, Franklin Smith of Gainesville.
Mr. Smith was born on May 1, 1946 in Gainesville, GA. He attended New Holland School and North Hall High School. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves. Careers consisted of the poultry industry and Sardis area compactor site. He enjoyed spending time with his family, singing, camping and cheering on Georgia Tech. He was a member of Gainesville First Congregational Holiness Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024 in the Chapel of Little and Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Davey Smith, Rev. Keith Phagan, Rev. Danny Peek and Rev. Philip Ransom officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
