Ivan Eugene “Gene” Boggs

Ivan Eugene “Gene” Boggs, age 94, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, November 16th, 2024.

Mr. Boggs was born on November 22nd, 1929, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Lon Eugene Boggs and Carrie Hicks.  He worked as a barber, a farmer, and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Boggs was a member of White Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeraldine Boggs Wilson, and his brothers, Tommy Boggs and Carroll Boggs. 

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Carolyn Palmer Boggs of Cleveland; sons, Mark Boggs (Michelle) of Cleveland, and Alan Boggs (Denise) of Cleveland; daughter, Anita Strange (Dennis) of Cornelia; grandchildren, Corry and Alicia Strange, Blake and Lacey Boggs, Cody Crumley, and Macy Boggs; and great-grandchildren, Emma Buckley, Brody and Lexi Boggs, Tory Strange, Mally Strange, and Cohen Strange. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-3:00pm Monday, November 18th, 2024, at the funeral home. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Monday, November 18th, 2024, in the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. 

Interment will follow at White Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
