Billy Hoyt White

Rev. Billy Hoyt White, 81, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Ricky Stone, Rev. Jason Buffington, Rev. Tony Ledford and Rev. Tommy Ross will officiate. Interment will be in Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on September 16, 1943 in Banks, County, he was the son of the late Ben C. White and Dorothy Barrett White Coleman. Rev. White was a minister for over 60 years. He pastored at Tony Hill Baptist Church, and New Testament Baptist Church. He was a charter member of East Hall Baptist Church. Rev. White worked at New Holland Mill, and at Wrigley’s for many years where he retired. He was a member of the Sardis Odd Fellow Lodge #338 F&AM and the Stone Lodge # 715 F&AM.

In addition to his parents, Rev. White was preceded in death by his brother, Lamar Vinson White and sister, Francis Connie Suggs.

Rev. White is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freda White of Gainesville; daughters and sons in law, Kim and Kenneth Gilleland of Gainesville, Melissa and Marvin Dale of Gainesville and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donation be made to Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 6007 Yellow Creek Rd, Murrayville, GA 30564.
