Deborah Way Stewart “Debbie” Stewart

Deborah Way Stewart “Debbie” went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 8, 2024 in Dahlonega, Georgia. She was born on November 8, 1954, in Chamblee Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Thelma Way of Dahlonega. She married the love of her life, Michael Lee Stewart on May 31, 1975.  They enjoyed 49 wonderful years together. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

 In her seventy years, she could be found fishing or strolling on the beach of her most happy place; St. George Island, Florida.  She had a tremendous love for her family. Her legacy is one of spending quality time with her loved ones; time spent by her husband’s side as they built homes, biked, and fished, time spent learning to play the guitar with her son, time spent building LEGO figures with her grandson or simply enjoying long conservations with him. Her most cherished name was Dee Dee. She is survived by her husband, Michael Lee Stewart, her son, Michael Wade Stewart, daughter-in-law, Macy Echols Stewart, and grandson, Brantley Michael Stewart. 

The family plans to celebrate her life on the sands of St. George Island, Florida at a future time in a private ceremony.  If anyone wishes to celebrate her life, the family suggests a small donation to the TLC Humane Society of Dahlonega, in lieu of any flowers.  She supported this charity each Christmas, due to her devotion to animals of any kind.
