Sara Hortin

Sara Hortin, age 75, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. She was preceded in death by parents, David S. and Mary Shiretzki; and sister, Amalia Ann “Molly” Splawn. Mrs. Hortin is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Stanley Hortin of Buford; children, Nan Wolfe, Matt (Amy) Hortin, Christy (Andrew) Petronaci; grandchildren, Emma, Ava, Alyssa, Allison, Carli, and Avery; brother, David Shiretzki; sister, Rose (Mike) Goolsby; sister-in-law, Katherine Little. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Sara was born on March 12, 1949 in Gainesville, GA and was a graduate of Gainesville High School, and then attended Young Harris College. She was a mother, a foster parent to over one hundred kids, and co-owner of Ceramics By You in Buford, GA. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 4 from 1:30 p.m. until time for the service at 3:30 p.m.
