Clyde Daniel “Dan” Spain

Clyde Daniel “Dan” Spain, 84, of Gainesville passed away Sunday December 15, 2024 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Born December 15, 1940, Dan was a lifelong resident of Hall County.  He spent his entire career in the textile industry and worked the longest at Chicopee Cotton Mill in Gainesville.  He was a simple man who was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Spain; parents, Hubert and Ella Spain; brother, James Spain; sister, Nellie Faye Gibbs.

Surviving are his daughter, Sherry Baker (Mickey) of Marietta; son, Steve Spain of Gainesville; grandchildren, Casey Baker of Acworth, Erin O’Connor (Nicholas) of Jacksonville, Florida; other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Michael Grizzle will officiate.  Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday December 17 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.
