Jimmie Hudgins Taylor

Obituary Date: Tuesday, December 17, 2024

Jimmie Hudgins Taylor, age 80, of Buford, Georgia, went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, while surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, Heim Hudgins; mother, Lois Hudgins Benson; and sister, Jackie Hudgins Hann.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ronald Taylor; daughters, Tammy Holland Harris (Tim) of Buford and Staci Holland Pealock (Todd) of Demorest; grandchildren, Ansley Pealock Green (Jared) of Demorest and Andrew Pealock (Mikaela) of McVeytown, Pennsylvania; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Avaleigh, Zella, Miles, and Cora.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Allan Hann of Braselton; sisters-in-law Katherine Lanier (Ronny) and Mary Joyce Ledford (Rickey); and brother-in-law, Melvin Taylor, all of Cleveland, Tennessee.  Additionally, she leaves behind her special bonus daughters, Robin Murray Quesenberry of Flowery Branch and Lisa Murray Archer of Buford, as well as numerous nephews, cousins, and friends.

Born on August 12, 1944, in Flowery Branch, Georgia, Jimmie moved to Sugar Hill at age six, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a proud 1962 graduate of North Gwinnett High School and 1983 graduate of Gwinnett Hall Bible College.

Jimmie began her first part-time job at McDonald’s when her youngest daughter began school. One of her many responsibilities there was to host memorable birthday parties while bringing joy and laughter to countless children. She built a fulfilling career through various clerical roles and retired in 2004 as a dedicated administrative clerk with the Gwinnett County School System.

A devoted member of Buford Church of God, Jimmie faithfully served as a Stephen Minister, Youth Elder, and compassionate caregiver, regularly calling shut-in members of the church. She spent countless hours studying His Word and in prayer. Jimmie’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith, love, and service to others. Truly, the words “Well done, my good and faithful servant” are fitting for her journey.

We take comfort in knowing that Jimmie is now at peace, embraced by the love of God and reunited with loved ones and friends who have gone before.  Her life of devotion and love leaves a legacy of faith and hope and the assurance we will be together again in His presence.
