Lynda Hamilton Gooch

Lynda Hamilton Gooch, age 67, of Mt. Airy, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 21, 2024 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Gooch was born on September 16, 1957 in New York, New York to the late William Hamilton and Esther Mae Grabel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Hamilton; and her sister, Deborah Hamilton.

Lynda spent 30 years of her life in the customer service and marketing field, where she gained many friendships. Beyond her professional life, Lynda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had an enduring love for music, often finding comfort in its melodies. Lynda cherished sunny days spent by the lake, marveling at nature, and her keen eye for birdwatching was a source of endless wonder. An animal lover at heart, she was especially devoted to her cats, who brought her joy and comfort. Above all, Lynda’s greatest passion was her family. She took immense pride in her role as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and sister. Her family was her world, and one of her greatest titles was "Granny Gooch" to her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, William Gooch, Jr., of Mt. Airy; son, William Gooch, III, of Mt. Airy; son, Matthew Haug, of Auburn; son, Jeremy Gooch, of Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Nichole Gooch, of Demorest; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Don Harris, of Treasure Island, FL; grandchildren, Landon and Raina Roberts, Lucas Haug, Rawlins Gooch, Israella Gooch; and great-grandchild, Lincoln Roberts.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2024 in the Chapel of The Grove. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the church prior to the service.
