Patrick Daniel “Pat” Bankston, age 75, of Sugar Hill, GA. passed away on December 13, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Diane Bankston; parents, Dan and Maxine Bankston.
Pat was a 1966 graduate of Tucker High School. Pat met the love of his life at the Varsity in Atlanta and never looked back. Pat and Diane were married on December 13, 1969 and enjoyed a wonderful life together. After exactly 11 months apart, the two were reunited with one another in Heaven on their 55th wedding anniversary. In addition to having a great love for his wife and family, Pat had a love for fishing. He was an avid fisherman and known for his vast knowledge of fishing on Lake Lanier. This love and his passion for success allowed him to achieve multiple world records for fishing. Additionally, Pat was a patent holder and invented a lighted marker buoy. He loved to tinker and was a very creative and imaginative person.
Pat’s jovial personality and generous spirit were known by all. He always felt that his purpose in life was to make others laugh. Pat and Diane believed in supporting others through charitable donations and stepping in to help others whenever it was needed. He would give the shirt off his own back to a friend or family member in need.
Mr. Bankston is survived by his two sons Bryan (Brandi) Bankston, Glenn (Megan) Bankston; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Linda Lovell; and brother Rick Bankston.
The family looks forward to sharing fond memories of Pat Bankston and will receive friends during a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 1-4pm at Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory in Buford, Georgia. A private funeral service will be held on January 5, 2025 at Broadlawn Cemetery. To honor his giving nature, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Pat Bankston.
