Marcos Torres, age 49, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on January 14, 2025. Born on May 7, 1975, in Brazil, he was the beloved son of Maria Fatima Flauzino Torres and the late Armelindo Torres.
In addition to his father, Marcos was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Isabella Torres, and his grandfather-in-law, "Papa" Homer Cantrell.
Marcos is survived by his devoted wife, Lauren Torres of Dahlonega, and their children: Mason, Allie, Wyatt, and Liam Torres. He also leaves behind his sisters, Cidineia Torres Domingues (Valdomiro) and Caroline Torres; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mark and Donna Anderson; brother-in-law, Zack Anderson; sister-in-law, Mallory Anderson; and his nieces and nephews: Lucas Torres Domingues, Bruna Torres Domingues, Joao Pedro Torres Da Silva, Laney Anderson, and Andi Anderson. His loving grandmother-in-law, “Nanny” Arlene Cantrell, also survives him.
Marcos was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was known for his extraordinary work ethic and dedication to his family and community. For many years, he was a cornerstone of the Chick-fil-A team in Dahlonega, earning the nickname "The Chicken Man." Beyond his professional life, Marcos had a deep love for Georgia Football and a passion for soccer, which he played professionally on S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Futsal, or indoor soccer, team in Brazil.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Cavenders Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Stephen Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
Marcos will be remembered for his love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
