Michael Odum, 54, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, January 18th, 2025 following a short illness.
Michael was born September 1, 1970, and lived most of his life in Dawson County. He was self-employed and spent much of his professional life restoring or building classic and muscle cars and trucks. He was a beloved figure wherever he went. His energy and personality were dynamic, and his practical jokes were legendary. Children of all ages were instantly drawn to him. He possessed a special gift of lifting up others when they needed it most, without judgement or hesitation.
Surviving are his fiancé, Amy Jo Maddox, Dahlonega; daughter, Stormie Daniel, Dawsonville; parents, Kay and Jeff Gearhart, Gainesville, Gene and Cheryl Odum, Dawsonville; sister and brother in law, Tonya Eberhart and Michael Carr, Jefferson; stepsisters, Tina Fuller, Rhonda Hayes, April Brooks, all of Dahlonega; several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Lifelong friend Rev. Russell Burt will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 am until the service hour.
