Rudene Audry Bearden

Rudene Audry Bearden, 88, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday January 23, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 25, 1936 to the late Autry and Pauline Jett, Rudene was raised in Atlanta and moved to Dawson County when she was a teenager.  She attended Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and spent most of her career working as a floral designer until her retirement from Ingles in Dawsonville.  Rudene was lovingly known as “Nanny” and was very devoted to her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, J.V. “PeeWee” Bearden and sons, Johnny Bearden and Tony Bearden.

Surviving are her beloved granddaughters and their husbands, Kristy and Eric Moore, Brandi and Matthew Turner, all of Dawsonville; great-grandchildren, AJ, Reese, Kylie, Kaleb; special nephew, Wayne Freeman of Atlanta; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Beverly Jett of Atlanta; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 27, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Gary Moore will officiate.  Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday January 26 from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Rudene be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Eddie Waters, 2162 Bailey Waters Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
