Betty Burruss Strickland of Gainesville died Sunday, January 26th at her residence at the age of 92.
She was born September 14, 1932, in Cumming, Ga to the late Jacob Reeves Burruss and Ruth Wallace Burruss. She lived in Hall County most of her life and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for 52 years. Betty retired from Southern Bell/AT&T with 42 years of service.
Survivors include daughters and son in law Lisa and Mitch Ralston of Gainesville, Ga, Nancy Bruce and Beth Bruce Smith of Monroe, Ga, grandchildren Reeves, Spencer, Anna-Mitchell, and Brigham Ralston, special great nieces and nephews, Dylan and Savannah Hall, McKenzie Hall, Sawyer and Gavin Smith. Great-Great nephew Dutton Hall. Brother Billy Burrus, sisters Ineal Burton and Kathleen Pruitt. As well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Clifton Chamblee Strickland, brothers, Reeves, Leland, Ed, Larry, and sisters Maggie, Dorothy and Lucile.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rev Garry English will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens, Cumming, Ga. The family will receive friends at Little Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville, Ga., Friday, January 31st, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 pm.
