Marcus Larry Reed

Mr. Marcus Larry Reed, 89, of Flowery Branch, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Cedarhurst Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Pinecrest Baptist Church. Rev. Mickey Caison will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Born on March 15, 1935 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Howard J. and Bunice Waldrip Reed. He was retired from Wrigley’s where he worked in the Stockroom. Mr. Reed was a charter member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his grandchild, Chris Reed and sister, Louise Smith.

Mr. Reed is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Gladys Byers Reed of Flowery Branch; son and daughter in law, Dennis and Frankie Reed of Gainesville; grandchildren, Misty Roach, Kim (Brad) Rush, Russ and Lara Reed;  11 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister, Elise (Johnny) Stone and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church, 2520 Mountain View Road, Gainesville GA 30504.
