Wanda Hudson

Mrs. Wanda Ruth (Townson) Hudson, age 84, of Braselton, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 10, 1940 in Loudon, Tennessee, a daughter to the late Bonnie Lee and Margie Irene (Hooker) Townson. She moved to Atlanta in 1958, where she met her husband Calvin Lewis Hudson. They later moved to Florida and Texas before returning to Georgia. 

She was a dedicated wife of 60 years, mother and homemaker. Her hobbies included: playing bridge with the ladies, she sewed beautifully and was an outstanding cook. She was active in her community, helping several years with the Christmas Tour of Homes. Her life was centered around her family. She showed great love, care and compassion for her husband, son, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren, as well as her siblings. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed family dinners and made many precious memories on vacations spent with them. Her family was her world, they were so special to her. She adored her grandchildren, and nothing made her happier than spending time with them. She wanted nothing more than for everyone to feel loved and to be happy. 

Wanda is survived and missed by her husband, Lew Hudson; her son, Darrell Hudson; daughter in law, Maggie Hudson; her three grandchildren, Derek, Erika and Nadia Hudson. And her sister, Donna Hamill. Her memory lives on with her nieces and nephews. 

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Fred, Denny and David; and her sisters: Elizabeth and Loretta. 

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 on April 26, 2025 at the Chapel on McEver.
