Frank Lee Bartholomew III, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 21 after complications from illness. Born on April 23, 1940, in Griffin, Georgia he was the son of Frank Lee Bartholomew, Jr. and Ruth Rogers Bartholomew and grandson of Francis Lee Bartholomew, Sr, and Alice Rogers.
Frank was known for his dedication and sense of duty in all things. He was a kind friend, a loving husband, a loyal civil servant, and disciple of the Lord. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1962 which prepared him to join the United States Navy for active service where he served his country and traveled the world. During the years of his reserve naval duty, Frank built a career in real estate while earning his master’s degree. Throughout his life, Frank had a passion for meeting people, creating partnerships though business, and staying informed about current events and trends in the industry.
He was an avid reader, gardener, and devoted much of his time to figuring out how things worked. His deep curiosity for understanding propelled these interests and his pursuit of knowledge throughout his entire life. He was devoted to his family and spent time walking, traveling, and enjoying time on Lake Lanier with his wife and sons. His call to spread God’s word inspired those around him, especially fellow members at The Church of the Apostles. and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Whether through his personal testimony, a heartfelt letter, or a book he thought they would enjoy, Frank was committed to offering comfort and ministering to all he met.
Frank is survived by his wife, Judith Steedly Bartholomew; his sons David Lee Bartholomew, and Daniel Steedly Bartholomew, daughter-in-law Jacqueline Marie Bartholomew, sister Margaret Manley, brother-in-law, Milton Manely, nephew Jeff Manley, niece Jennifer Manley, and great-niece Ashely Hook, great nephews James Hook and Brandon Manley. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Lee Bartholomew, Jr. and mother, Ruth Rogers Bartholomew. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 10 at The Church of the Apostles at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Frank’s memory to The Church of the Apostles
