Leonard Leeroy "Roy" Savage

Mr. Leonard Leeroy “Roy” Savage, age 89 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Park with Pastor Scott Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Savage was born August 21, 1935 to the late Grover Cleveland Savage & Ulma Gillespie Savage in Gainesville, Georgia. He served with the United States Army National Guard and the Corps of Engineers. He was a retired grocer after 74 years in the business with Tyner’s Food Store, Pepper’s Grocery, Roy’s Food Store, & J&J Foods in Gainesville, Georgia.

Always a giver, he was willing to help anyone.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jeannie Savage of Gainesville, GA; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Terry and Dana Waycaster of Buford, GA; stepdaughter, Michele Taylor of Gainesville, GA; and numerous other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Jane Savage; brother, Bill (Pat) Savage; & sister, Ernestine (Herman) Hooper.

He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
