Hubert Lee McElreath, a beloved family man, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, in Elberton, Georgia, at the age of 70. Born on June 5, 1954, in Commerce, Georgia, Hubert lived a life anchored in hard work, family, and unwavering commitment to his craft.
Hubert’s career in masonry was a reflection of his strong character and love for building. He took pride in his work and the structures he helped create, which stand as a testament to his diligent spirit and skillful hands. Throughout his life, Hubert was known not only for his craftsmanship but also for his generosity towards others and his willingness to lend a helping hand.
Hubert is survived by his loving daughter, October McElreath; his caring sisters, Barbara (Jimmy) Spooner and Brenda Martin; and his cherished six grandchildren, who were a source of immense joy to him. His family was the center of his world, and he imparted valuable lessons of strength, kindness, and resilience to the generations that follow.
Hubert joins in eternal rest his father, Odel W. McElreath; his sons, Jerry, Franklin, and Nicholas McElreath; and his siblings, Dennis McElreath and Jane Duncan. Each of these loved ones has left an indelible mark on Hubert's heart, and they will be remembered fondly as he is reunited with them.
