Grace “G” Bales Green

August 24, 1927 – April 14, 2025

Grace “G” Bales Green passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the age of 97. Born in Buford, Georgia, Grace lived a full and joyful life surrounded by family and friends.

At the age of 16, she met her first love, Dennis Bales, and they were married a year later. The couple made their home in Gwinnett County, where they shared many happy years together until Dennis’s passing in 1991. They were longtime members of Buford Highway Baptist Church and active in the Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge communities.

Grace married her current husband, Charles Green, in 1999 and relocated to Hall County.  They shared a mutual love of country music.

Grace had a passion for cooking, gardening, ceramics, and—above all—spending time with her family. She especially cherished the time spent with her daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter. She was also a devoted Atlanta Braves fan.

Grace is preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Bales; her parents, Tonnie and Velvie Satterfield; and her siblings, JoAnn Lancaster, Rachel Whidby, and T.C. Satterfield.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Moss, and spouse, John Moss; one granddaughter, Bethany Wheeler, spouse, Trey Wheeler; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Wheeler and nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Grace’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory with Rev. Steven Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park. The family will gather with friends prior to the service starting at 1:00 pm.
