Daniel Broome, age 59, of Bertha Gragg Road, Lula, GA.

Surrounded by his loved ones in his home, Daniel Broome went to Heaven after a long battle with cancer shortly after daybreak on January 4, 2009. He was born on September 23, 1949 to Toy and Alice Broome of Gainesville, GA. He was preceded in death by both parents, one son, Floyd (Hippy) McDougald, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ondia & Ray Dodd, sister-in-law, Willie Mae McDougald, brother-in-law, O'Brian Loggins, nephew, Wayne Loggins and great-granddaughter Madyson Buffington.

Mr. Broome is survived by his wife, Connie McDougald Broome, one son and daughter-in-law, Jordy & Amy McDougald of Lula, six daughters & sons-in-law, Melissa Broome of Gainesville, Stacy Hobbs of Clarkesville, Christie Broome of Lula, Candy & Vince Brown of Flowery Branch, Penny & Jerry White of Gainesville, Tammy McDougald Gooch and Marvin Gooch of Cleveland, and daughter-in-law, Wanda McDougald of Gillsville. He is also survived by six brothers and sisters-in-law, Leck & Linda Broome of Gainesville, Roger Broome of Gainesville, Ronnie & Kathy Broome of Gainesville, Ronald & Mae Broome of Lula, Randy & Martha Broome of Gainesville and James Broome of Dalton. He has four sisters & brothers-in-law, Lorene & Cary Lancaster of Talmo, Elaine & Jacky Bruce of Gainesville, Sandra & Kenneth Eubanks of Gainesville, and Debbie & Howard Eubanks of North Carolina.

Dan was a member of New Haven Congressional Holiness Church in Gainesville.

In the last six months of his life, he was cared for daily by his daughter Tammy. In his long battle with cancer he was blessed with a special blessing of Pa's baby girl, Makenzee McDougald. This blessing was sent from God to bring a smile to his face each day and to help him in his battle with cancer. Another blessing was sent in the form of a grandson, Ethan McDougald.

He is survived by twenty three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was employed by Flowers Baking of Villa Rica and worked as a sales manager in the Gainesville division. He was known, loved and respected by all his employees and fellow workers. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and "Pa". He enjoyed fishing, golf, and his work. He loved taking pictures of anything he saw. He spent many hours in his building reading his Bible and talking to his family about Jesus.

Reverend Wayne Hicks & Reverend Fred Patton will officiate over the service which will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 2:00 pm at NewHaven and interment will be at Mt. Zion Methodist in Alto. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday, January 5, 2009 from 6
