David Nicholas "Nick" Palmer

David Nicholas "Nick" Palmer, age 49 of Clarkesville, passed away Sunday, January 04, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Fulton County on April 16, 1959, he was the son of the late Donald Edward and Carol Ann Newkirk Palmer. He was a police officer and worked as security at several local businesses and attended Camp Creek Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Palmer enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brother, Eric Palmer.



Surviving are daughters, Desiree Palmer and Chelsea Palmer of Mt Airy; mother of children, JoAnn Clark; brother, Chris Palmer of Toccoa; one nephew and numerous aunts and uncles.



Memorial services are 4:00 pm Wednesday, January 7, 2009, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until the service hour on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the David Palmer Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 725, Cornelia, Ga. 30531.
