Cecil Heard

Cecil Heard, 84, of Buford passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Funeral services will 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 23 in the Chapel of Tapp/Tim Stewart Funeral Home and Crematory. Dr. Charles Walls, Rev. Steve Barnum, and Rev. Duke Forrester will officiate.


Mr. Heard is survived by his wife of 62 years Vautie Heard; children Wayne and Karen Heard of Auburn, GA; Paula and Tony Mitchell of Canton, GA; Patti and John Page of Robbinsville, N.C.; Gina and Alan Durant of Waynesboro, GA; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.


Cecil was born in Gwinnett County and was a member of New Prospect United Methodist Church in Buford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Prospect United Methodist Church, 2018 Buford Dam Road, Buford, GA, 30518 in Mr. Heard's name.


The family will receive friends Thursday, January 22, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Tapp/Tim Stewart Funeral Home and Crematory, Buford, Georgia, 770-945-9345.
