Hazel Ross Tyson

Hazel Ross Tyson, age 71, of Gainesville, GA and formerly of Lumpkin County, died Tuesday Feb. 3, 2009 at the Bell Minor Home in Gainesville.

She was born in Lumpkin County Nov. 13, 1937 and was of the Baptist faith.

Hazel was the daughter of the late Leroy Ross and Adelide Adams Ross and was also preceded in death by brothers, Howard Lee Ross and Robert Edward Ross.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Tony Nix, Gainesville, GA, Teresa and Lloyd Gordon, Tennessee; brothers and sister-in-law, Frankie Ross, Tommy and Connie Ross, all of Dawsonville, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Fannie Mae Weidner, Dahlonega, GA, Mary Lou and David Hall, Dahlonega, GA, Brenda Young and Timmy Floyd, Dahlonega, GA, Ruth and Leroy Piper, Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Steven Allen Hoover, Kristi Nix, Brandon Nix, Grant Nix, and Jordan Nix. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM Friday Feb. 6, 2009 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. Levi Nix and Rev. Tommy Ross will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 PM until 9 PM and all day on Thursday.
