Odell Junior Lutz

Mr. Odell Junior Lutz, age 80 of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Lutz was born on August 1, 1928 in Lincoln County, NC to the late Moses Odell and Iva Friday Lutz. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Peeler Lutz, a brother, John Lutz and sisters, Mandy Bowman and Annie Herman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korea War. Mr. Lutz was a truck driver and a member of Pearl Baptist Church in Iron Station, NC.

Survivors include: wife: Clara Webb Lutz, Cleveland; daughter: Wanda Lutz, Alexis, NC; son: Dell Lutz, Alexis, NC; daughter and son-in-law: Margaret & Curtis Martin, Alexis, NC; son and daughter-in-law: Phillip & Laura Lutz, Stanley, NC; brother: George Lutz, Lincolnton, NC; sister: Minnie Hawkins, Hickory, NC; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law:
Clack & Linda Webb, Flowery Branch; stepdaughters & stepsons-in-law: Diane (Webb) and Billy Savage, Lula; Juanita (Webb) and Jimmy Fitzgerald, Toccoa; stepdaughter: Verlene Webb, Cleveland; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law: Allen & Susie Webb, Cleveland, Brent & Brenda Webb, Cleveland; Leroy & Melissa Webb, Toccoa; stepdaughter and stepson- in- law: Janet & Will Nix, Dawsonville; 7 grand children, 1 great grandchild, 18 step grandchildren; 12 step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2009 from Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Fuller and the Rev. Andy Gaddis officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
