Lois Blalock

Miss Lois Blalock, age 98, of New Holland passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 at New Horizons West Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday February 16, 2009 at 3:30pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Jon Beck, Reverend Mike Taylor, and Reverend Mark Russell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 16, 2009 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with the funeral services to follow.

Miss Lois Blalock was born August 3, 1910 to the late Francis and Sarah Dyer Blalock. She worked for Hall County Hospital, what is now Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was a member of New Holland Baptist and loved her church very much. Miss Blalock served the Lord faithfully for many years by teaching Sunday School, Girls in Action and Vacation Bible School. She was a blessing to all who knew her and was loved very much by her family and friends. Miss Blalock was preceded in death by her three sisters, Mamie Blalock, Annie Belle Bloodworth and Frances Blalock, brother William Blalock, niece and husband Glenn and Brenda Dorsey, great niece Tara Dorsey.

Miss Blalock is survived by her brother Reverend Howard Blalock of Oakwood, niece and husband Patra and Lamar Elder of Gainesville, very special nephew Jordan Dorsey of Gainesville, nephew and wife Dennis and Sandra Blalock of Oakwood, niece Sarah Ellen Blalock of Oakwood.

Flowers with be excepted but those who would like may make contributions to New Holland Baptist Church Building Fund, 7 Quarry Street, Gainesville, GA 30501

The family would like to thank all the staff of New Horizons West for their love and care to Miss Lois while she was in their facility.
