Ronald Jordan Ellington

Ronald Jordan Ellington was born on August 2, 1957 in Tallahassee, FL and died at home under hospice care on March 23, 2009.

He was the son of Jack M. and Elaine Jordan Ellington of Clayton, GA. He spent most of his years in Cairo, GA. He graduated from Cairo High School and was a member of Cairo First United Methodist Church. He was the grandson of the late Louie S. and Susie Persons Ellington and the late William M. and Ethel Aldredge Jordan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncles and aunts as follows: Elmer P. Ellington, Rufus and Mable Ellington, Avery Trudie Jordan VanGasbeck, Wilbur and LaRue Jordan West, Delma A. Jordan, Mary M. Jordan and Donald M. Jordan. He is survived by his parents and uncles and aunts as follows: Betty W. Ellington, Calvin S. and Betty W. Ellington, Jeff and Sally J. Ellington, H.J. VanGasbeck, Martha S. Jordan and J. Fred Jordan. He is also survived by three very special friends: Alan Davis of Cairo, GA, Michael Hart of Tallahassee, FL, and Eddie Harris of Tallahassee, FL.

His body will be cremated and graveside interment services will be scheduled at Glenwood Cemetery in Thomaston, GA at a date to be announced.

The family will be greeting friends and visitors at 6:00 PM Thursday, March 26, 2009 with light refreshments being served at the Fellowship Hall of the Clayton First United Methodist Church, located on Main Street in downtown Clayton, GA.
