Reitha Irene Spivey Jones

Funeral services for Reitha Irene Spivey Jones, age 89, of Clarkesville, will be held on Saturday, May 02, 2009, at 2:00 PM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel with Reverend John Humphries, Reverend Raymond Payne and Reverend Leon Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Jones passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at her residence.


Born in Rabun County July 97, 1919, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late William Aaron and Maude Ann Loula Nicholson Spivey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Gladston Jones; brothers, Fred Spivey, Remmie Spivey and Alonzo Spivey; sisters, Christene Sanders, Oma Lee Jordan, Martha Spivey, Mildred Spivey, and Dorothy Medlock.


Mrs. Jones was of the Baptist faith and was previously employed by Habersham Mills, Habersham County School System, and Chicopee.


Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Reitha Nanette Jones and John V. Reepe, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Reverend John Humphries; sister-in-law, Christine Spivey; grandchildren, Bobby Garmon, Melanie Linerfelt, Robin Maxwell, Barbara Shedd, Anita K. Sarrett, Keith Lingerfelt; great grandchild, Alexander Stephan Garmon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and special family friend, Susie Free.




The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 5495 Highway 197 South, Clarkesville, on Friday, May 01, 2009, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
