Barnard Rogers Edwards

Ivie Funeral Home anounces the death of Mr. Barnard Rogers Edwards, age 72, of Commerce who died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at BJC Hospital.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Neri Edwards and the late Addie Belle Dorsey Edwards. He was married to Nancy Haley Edwards of the home.


Survivors other than his wife include sons, Roger Edwards and Rodney Edwards, both of Commerce: daughters, Teresa Edwards of Nicholson; Terri Edwards of Commerce; brothers, Billy Edwards of Danielsville; Bobby Edwards of Ila; sisters: Mary Alice Floyd of Danielsville; and Betty Joe McKinney of Trenton, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, including Tyler Stone, Christian Edwards, Madison Sewell, Austin Edwards, RJ Edwards, Ammarae Edwards, Rilee Edwards and Tate Edwards.


Funeral services for Barnard Rogers Edwards will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2009 from the Macedonia Holiness Church in Madison County with Reverend Kendall Callaway and Reverend Ardis Anglin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2009; and at other times at the home of Rodney Edwards, 224 Beagle Trail, Commerce, Georgia.
