Roberta McDowell Youngblood

Roberta McDowell Youngblood, 85, of Clayton, Georgia passed away May 30, 2009 after an extended illness.

Roberta was born in Otto, North Carolina the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Cabe McDowell.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, D.L. Youngblood; one brother Thomas McDowell Jr.; and two sisters Bernice Dean, and Repord McDowell.

She is survived by two sons, Steve McDowell of Rabun Gap, GA., David Youngblood;
one daughter, Sheila Burton of Tiger, GA; one brother John McDowell; five grandchildren, Christi Thompson, Erin McGaha, Ben McDowell, Daniel Youngblood, Dylan Youngblood; four great-grandchildren Ashley Thompson, Alex Thompson, Kaden Thompson, Jeremiah McGaha. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 pm at Beck Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home Monday June 1, 2009 at 11:00 am with minister Tom Hoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Burch Cemetery in Towns County, Georgia.
