Katie Hurt Penticoff

Obituary Date: Wednesday, June 10, 2009
Mrs. Katie Hurt Penticoff, age 91 of Temple, Georgia passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 after an extended illness. Mrs. Penticoff retired from the Hospitality Industry after 40 years of service. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cumming, Georgia.

Mrs. Penticoff was preceded in death by her late husband, Lloyd Penticoff and three brothers, Hoyt Martin and George Martin of Cumming, Georgia and Ford Martin of Austell, Georgia. She was also preceded in death by five of her children, Randall T. Hurt of Marietta, Georgia, Nettie Karakos of Rome, Georgia, B.L. Hurt of Powder Springs, Georgia, Betty Blake of Wilmington, North Carolina and C. B. Hurt, Jr. of Acworth Georgia

Survivors include her son, Jack Hurt of Smyrna, Georgia; brother, Ed Martin of Marietta, Georgia; sisters, Annie Belle Tatum and Elsie Daniel both of Decatur, Georgia and Irene Tatum of Toccoa, Georgia; 25 grandchildren: 45 great grandchildren: 22 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Katie was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 11:00a.m. until 12:30p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia. Graveside services will be held immediately thereafter at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cumming, Georgia with the Reverend Dennis Bottoms officiating.
