Chance Randall Cantrell

Chance Randell Cantrell, age 38 of Cornelia, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2009, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born in Hall County on March 31, 1971, he was the son of Jack Cantrell and Janice Zimmerman Holbrooks. Chance was a mechanic at 123 Tire and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an outdoorsman. Chance was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dan & Alice Zimmerman.

Surviving are daughters, Jessica Ellen Dodd of Gainesville and Chantley Brooke Cantrell of Clarkesville; father and stepmother, Jack & Phyllis Cantrell of Mt. Airy; mother, Janice Zimmerman Holbrooks of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, Corey & Haley Cantrell of Mt. Airy; brother, Clay Cantrell of Mt. Airy; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly & Judah Echols of Lula; step-brother, Andy Turner of Mt. Airy; paternal grandparents, Hugh & Nellie Cantrell of Mt. Airy; special friend, Melissa Ledford of Clarkesville; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Saturday, June 20, 2009, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Ray Turpin and Rev. Chris York officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Friday. The family is at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Jessica Dodd & Chantley Cantrell Scholarship Fund established at any Habersham Bank location.
