Emmett Lamar King

Mr. Emmett Lamar King, age 65, of Cleveland, Ga. died Friday June 26, 2009 at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, Ga.

Mr. King was a native of Anniston, Alabama who had lived in Dahlonega for 10 years and in Cleveland, Ga. for the past year and a half. He was a retired street supervisor with the City of Sugar Hill, Georgia.

Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Emmett King and Johnnie Mae House King; 2 Sons, Michael Wayne King and Roland Lamar King; sister; Rebecca Lynn Smith; granddaughter; Samantha Darlene King.

He is survived by his wife, Dee King, Cleveland, Ga.; daughters, Cathy King and Britney King, both of Cleveland, Ga., Amanda King, Homer, Ga., Tyla Lunsford, Jasper, Ga.; sons: Scotty King, Cleveland, Ga., Johnny Kaylor, Florida; sisters, Christy King, Tammy King, and Wendy King, all of Anniston, Alabama; brother, Dennis King, Anniston, Alabama. 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews., and other relatives also survive.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday July 1, 2009 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. Michael Lunsford, Rev. Daniel Reeves, Rev. Kenneth Pilcher, and Scotty King will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to his wife, Delores.
