Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Hazel Dean Bradley Parks, age 86, of the Holly Springs Community, Pendergrass, who passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009. Mrs. Parks was born August 20, 1923, in Central, South Carolina, a daughter of the late, J.P. Bradley, Lessie Carroll, and Clint Boone. Mrs. Parks was a Navy veteran of World War II, where she was stationed at NAS Pensacola, FL as an aviation machinist mate with the WAVES. She was honorably discharged in 1945 with rank of Third Class Petty Officer. Mrs. Parks went to Commerce Elementary and graduated from Maysville High School and the Perry Business School, Gainesville, GA. She worked as a seamstress, a U.S. Census Taker, and spent most of her years as a homemaker. Mrs. Parks was a member of Holly Springs United Methodist Church; and her hobbies included quilting with her friends at church, flower gardening, bird watching, sewing, and reading.
