Reggie Meaders

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Reggie Meaders, age 90 of Lula. Mr. Meaders passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from Skitts Mtn. Baptist Church with the Rev. Kyle Savage, Rev. Paul Flynn and the Rev. Mike Irvin officiating, interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Meaders was born in White County on August 12, 1919 to the late Cheaver and Arie Meaders. He served with honor in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and the Korean Conflict. His occupation after the military was welding, but he was best known for his southern folk art pottery, an art handed down from a long line of folk potters, and one he enjoyed as a child and continued until his death.

Mr. Meaders was a member of Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church and in addition to his parents in preceded in death by his brothers John Rufus Meaders and Lanier Meaders; sister Margie Savage as well as his son Lamar Meaders and daughter in law, Anita Meaders.
