Gordon R. Peebles

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Little & Davenport Chapel for Mr. Gordon R. Peebles 92 of Gainesville. The Rev. Dr. Tom Smiley and the Rev. Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate. Visitation will be at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 pm until 9:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery.



The son of the late Albert and Daisy Morris Peebles, he was born in Jackson County but had lived most of his life in Hall County. He was retired from the General Services Administration with the Federal Government. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a charter member of Lakewood Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Elsie Peebles.



Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Karen Peebles, grandson, Matthew Peebles, granddaughter, Sarah Peebles all of Columbia, SC and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
