Jimmy Cutrell

Obituary Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2009


A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Gainesville to honor the life and Ministry of Jimmy Cutrell. Jimmy died October 28, after a year of physical problems.



Jimmy was born in Batesville, Arkansas on September 27, 1943. He served as minister of music at various churches in Mississippi and Georgia. He was also voice instructor at Preparatory Music in Gainesville, GA.



Jimmy was a member of several musical groups including Mississippi Singing Churchmen, Sons of Jubal and Lanier Singers.



Jimmy held degrees from Mississippi College and University of Southern Mississippi.



He is survived by his wife, Marolyn, his daughter, Kel Lee, his sister, Jan Rodgers, his nephews, Jay and Paul King and many friends and youth who he loved beyond measure.



His family would like to thank everyone for their support during this very difficult year.



In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Jimmy and Marolyn Cutrell Fund, at any Wachovia Bank or the Youth Music and Mission Tour at the First United Methodist Church, 2780 Thompson Bridge Rd. Gainesville, GA 30501
