James Wesley Fields Sr.

Mr. James Wesley Fields Sr., age 78, of Dahlonega, GA died October 29, 2009.

Mr. Fields was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was retired from Fieldale and was of the Baptist faith.

He was the son of the late John and Pearl Davis Fields and he was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Passmore Fields; daughter, Lucy Fields; brother, Robert Fields; and an infant sister.

Mr. Fields is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Sherry Torres, Griffin, GA, Janice and Martin Lopez, Gainesville, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Wayne Fields, Dahlonega, GA, Wesley and Nina Fields, Dahlonega, GA; brother, Roger Fields, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Torres, Jorge Torres, Anthony Holdman, Danielle Fields, Alex Lopez, and Luci Fields. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday November 1, 2009 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. Roger Abernathy and Rev. Allen Passmore will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 PM until 9 PM and again on Sunday until the time of service.
