Zelma Gowder

Obituary Date: Saturday, November 7, 2009
Zelma Ruth Hayes Gowder, age 83, of Fork Road, Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Earl Pirkle will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday, November 9, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gowder was born on December 22, 1925 to the late Thomas and Lottie Bell Hayes in Hall County. Zelma was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Gowder and her son, Richard Gowder.

Mrs. Gowder is survived by her daughter, Elaine Gowder of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Kay and Doug Breitling of Eureka Springs, AR, daughter and son-in-law, Angela Lynn and Jerry Crain of Lula, son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Joyce Gowder of Gainesville, grandson, Richard Kenneth Crain of Flowery Branch, grandson and wife, Steven Lawrence and Stacey Crain of Cumming, grandson and wife, Daniel Wade and Rachel Gowder of San Antonio, TX, granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Gowder of Gainesville, sister, Gladys Wilson of Marietta, sister, Catherine Ingram of Miami, FL, brother, Thomas Russell Hayes Jr. of Kennesaw, brother, Charles Hayes of Nashville, TN, and 7 great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
