Hazel Pauline Conrad Stephens

Hazel Pauline Conrad Stephens, age 73 of Cornelia, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at her residence following a brief illness.

Born in Gaston County, North Carolina on July 02, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Rose C. Conrad. Mrs. Stephens attended Antioch Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens was also preceded in death by her brother, Don Conrad.

Surviving are her husband, Homer Stephens of Cornelia; daughters, Donna Stephens & Debra McClellon of Cornelia and Kim Cook of Alto; sons, Joe Stephens & Stacy Stephens of Alto; sisters, Edith Ghorley of Gastonia, NC & Libby Robinson of York, SC; brother, Gary Conrad of Gastonia, NC; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other friends & relatives.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Thursday, November 19, 2009, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Jacob Armour officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 pm on Wednesday.
