Bitha Belle Dowdy Hutcheson

Bitha Belle Dowdy Hutcheson, 89, a long time resident of Flowery Branch, Ga., died peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

Born on February 6, 1920, to the late Myrtie and Homer Dowdy of Dahlonega, Bitha was an only child. She graduated from Nimberwill School and then attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega for two years until she left for a teaching position at a one-room school house nearby. Not long afterwards she married John Dillard (J.D.) Hutcheson of Dahlonega, whom she spent more than 50 happy years with until his death in 1996.
