James Ronald Head

Obituary Date: Sunday, January 10, 2010
James Ronald Head, 62, of Gainesville passed away Saturday January 9, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.



Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 12, 2010 at 1pm from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Pirkle officiating with interment to follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm Monday at the funeral home.



Mr. Head was retired from Peachtree Doors and Windows. He was a devoted truck driver for over 35 years. Mr. Head loved to hunt, he was loved by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mr. Head was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father Claude Head, and brothers Tony, Wayne, Tommy, and Marty Head. Maternal grandparents Rufus & Maude Norrell, paternal grandparents Amos & Clara Head



Survivors include his son Randy Head of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Kay Head Smith and Mike Smith of Flowery Branch, son Jason Head of Alto, mother Johnette Norrell Head, mother of children Linda Head Davis of Alto, granddaughter Amber Head Wood of Dahlonega, grandsons Thor and Zack Smith, granddaughter Taylor Smith all of Flowery Branch, great grandson Peyton Wood of Dahlonega, great granddaughter McKenzie Wood of Dahlonega, and brother Johnny Head of Gainesville. Numerous nieces and nephews, best friends Roy Pirkle and Ven McFalls. The family would like to give special thanks to Vinita Gooch.
