Opal Lou Sullens

Mrs. Opal Lou Sullens, age 88, of Dahlonega, GA, died Thursday January 21, 2010, at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, GA.

Mrs. Sullens was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was a homemaker and was a member of Wahoo Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

She was the daughter of the late Jolly Bryan and Josie Lee Bryan and was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Garnet Sullens; brothers, Henry Bryan, Milt Bryan, Shields Bryan, and J.D. Bryan; sisters, Oma Anderson, Mae Smith, Lula Patterson, and Martha Harkins.

Mrs. Sullens is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Hershel Sullens, Dahlonega, GA, R.L. and Shirley Sullens, Dahlonega, GA, and Jerry Sullens, Dahlonega, GA; granddaughter, Lynnzie Sullens; sister, Mary Dodd, Dahlonega, GA. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sullens are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday January 24, 2010 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. J.R. Fields will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 3 PM until 9 PM and again on Sunday until the time of the service.
