Willie Waymon Cowart

Mr. Willie Waymon Cowart, age 74, of Commerce died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Cowart was born in Banks County to the late John and Lucille Dailey Cowart. Mr. Cowart was a business owner and was a United States Army Veteran.

Mr. Cowart is survived by his wife, Mary Sanders Cowart of Commerce; sister-in-law, Peggy Gleaton of Thomaston; nephews, Terry Dills (Emily) of Commerce and Byron Gleaton of Thomaston; niece, Robbin Kent of Thomaston; great-nephews, Adam Dills of Commerce, Logan Kent, Carter Gleaton, and Nathaniel Gleaton all of Thomaston; and great-nieces, Amber Chester of Commerce and Hayle Kent of Thomaston.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 2, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Wilson and Rev. Phil Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Rd., Athens, GA 30605.
