Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home for Mr. Billy Humphries, 80, of Gainesville. The Rev. Kevin Connell will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Humphries passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at his residence. He was of the Baptist faith and had lived in Hall County all his life. He was retired from New Holland Mill. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest M. and Sally Akins Humphries; his wife, Betty Jean McDougald Humphries and by a granddaughter Alison Lynn Byers.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Glenn Byers of Unadilla, Sherry Humphries of Gainesville, Robin Reece of Gainesville, Becky and Otis Burchfield of Cleveland; sister, Frances McIntyre of Gainesville; brother, Bobby Humphries of Flordia; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
