Fay Rider Fitts

Mrs. Fay Rider Fitts, age 87, of Dahlonega died Wednesday Feb 10, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born June 13, 1922 in Forsyth County, GA.

Fay lived in Lumpkin County all of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Dahlonega Church of God of Prophecy. She worked at the Burlington Pinetree plant in Dahlonega for a number of years and also at West Cleaners in Dahlonega.

Fay was the daughter of the late Henry Cicero Rider and Flosssie Lance Rider. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Fred Fitts Sr; brothers, Judge Rider and Glenn Rider; sisters, Louise Harkins and Hazel Calhoun.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Freddia and Rev. Tommy Panter, Dahlonega, Frances and Doug Grizzle, Dahlonega, Janice and Rev. James Green, Douglasville, GA, Cheryl and Jimmy Berry, Dahlonega; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Lisa Fitts, Dahlonega; sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Joe Waters, Dahlonega, Betty Grizzle, Dahlonega; brothers and sister-in-law, James and Kathy Rider, Dahlonega, Boyd Rider, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Jennifer Berry Barrett, Julie Green Wyrosdick, Carisa Green Nelson, Ashley Fitts, Danny Grizzle, Tyron Panter, and Tammra Panter Lawson; great-grandchildren, Misty Anglin, Traci Lawson, Sean Lawson, Brittney Panter, Kellie Panter, Hanna Panter, Tyler Grizzle, Elsie Nelson, Blake Barrett, and Brooke Barrett; great-great-grandchildren, Carmen Walker- Lawson and J.B. Anglin. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fitts are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday February.12, 2010 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. James Green and Rev. Tommy Panter will officiate.Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 11th from noon until 9:00 PM.
