Doris Elrod

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Doris Elrod, age 91, of Demorest, formerly of Jefferson, who passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Mrs. Elrod was born on October 4, 1918, in Roebuck, South Carolina, to the late, John T. and Bertha Mae Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frary Elrod. Mrs. Elrod was a homemaker and a member of the Jefferson First Baptist Church of Jefferson.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Luther and Kathy Elrod of Mt. Airy, GA; John and Ulla Elrod of Jacksonville Beach, FL; and grandchildren: Barbara, Thomas, Susan, and Louis Elrod.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Helms officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Whitfield Funeral Home, Demorest, GA; and from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson.706-367-5467.
